Hello

Welcome to Fabric Paper Scissors — and hello from me.

This is the place where creativity, community, and a little bit of joyful chaos all come together. My About Page is here to give you a warm introduction to who I am, what I do, and what you can expect from this colourful corner of the internet.

I love mixed-media, i have a love of paper, pens, paints and thread, any craft that involves glue, thread, or an excuse to buy more stationery. I run workshops from my cozy Garden Studio in Gedney Hill, where people gather to make beautiful things, learn new techniques, share stories, and enjoy time together.

On this website, you’ll find creative workshops designed to inspire all levels.

Whether you’re a curious beginner, a seasoned maker, or someone who just loves pretty things and a good cuppa, I’m so glad you’re here.

Have a browse, get inspired, and join me in celebrating all things fabric, paper, scissors — and the magic we can make with them.

My Story

Hi! I’m Jane— the creative tornado behind Fabric Paper Scissors. I’m powered by tea, colourful chaos, and the firm belief that if you can glue it, stitch it, or doodle on it… it’s basically art.

I have a deep and slightly unreasonable love for creative stuff. Yes, stuff I also collect scraps of paper like a magpie who’s gone to art school, and I still insist that every thread in my stash “might be useful one day” (I’m right, obviously). Rocks, pebbles and glass are also on my stash list.

I make tiny books, collage pages, stitched doodles, and other joyful things that fall somewhere between “craft” and “what on earth is she doing now?” My creative process is 10% inspiration, 20% stitching, and 70% trying to remember where I put the scissors down this time.

I started running workshops because (1) I love enabling other people’s crafty whims, (2) I enjoy watching grown adults get excited over a good glue stick, and (3) it’s the perfect excuse to buy more supplies “for just in case purposes”.

I suppose I never really stood a chance. With a Nan who loved sewing and a Mum who knitted, crocheted, crafted and generally did all the things, I was destined to follow in their creative footsteps. My childhood birthdays were less about cake and more about the absolute thrill of buying brand-new stationery for school — honestly, they still are. Give me fresh pens, crisp paper and a shiny notebook and I’m as happy as a kid in a sweet shop. And books? Don’t get me started… I adore them. I’m one of those people who genuinely loves the smell of a new book.

In the Garden Studio you’ll find me surrounded by threads, pens, paper snippets, and enough fabric to insulate a small village. There’s always laughter, always learning, and always someone saying, “I didn’t mean to start another project… but here we are.”

Come along for the creativity.
Stay for the fun.
Leave with glitter on you somewhere — it’s inevitable.

Oh And maybe bring a bag… because you’ll probably leave with a new hobby.
