Like most creative people, we don’t take time to develop and play. There is a tendency to work to a finished piece as opposed to personal artistic growth. A fun and exciting monthly workshop to explore your creativity through play and mark making. Looking at different artists and through experimentation using different mediums including felt, we can play and grow our own artistic style. Under guidance from expert tutor Clare Bullock, she will guide you through the skills and techniques to free your creative soul and keep your pot of creativity topped up. No limits! She has a true passion for all types of textiles, art and making. She considers herself more of a maker rather than an Artist. Her passion is what drives her to teach and share her knowledge and expertise. We run these workshops monthly to ensure what we achieve some personal growth. They really push our creativity and challenge our perception and view of artists and their work in these workshops. Artists can be a famous artist or a local one it just needs to be an inspiring individual. We will use a sketchbook… and before you all say “Oh God I don’t do sketchbooks” these books are a simple way of freeing up your thoughts, relaxing and thinking outside the box. Anything goes! You can spend 5 mins or 5 hours on it, it’s completely up to you. When we get to meet up next in class we use the thoughts, ideas and inspirational material in our sketchbooks to create our own a beautiful pieces. You can then, if you wish make your own felt which can be worked more, with embroidery and inclusions to create something unique. A natural medium felt creates wonderful pieces of art, that can be displayed or even worn. This is a great workshop for exploration, sharing ideas and meeting like-minded individuals, great for getting to make new friends and jolly good fun. So, if you would like to be part of something a little bit different, learn new techniques and get to know a variety of different artists, join Requirements, Refreshments are supplied throughout the day, but please bring your lunch. Materials will be supplied but there may be additional charges throughout the year, which you will be advised in advance for a kit for working on. You will need to pay for each workshop in advance in order for us to manage numbers. If you want to develop as a textile artist these workshops will only serve to expand your capabilities.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations & Refunds Bookings for the workshops are made months in advance, therefore it can be difficult for me to resell any places at short notice. Workshops require a great deal of planning, financial commitment, supplies and tools, as well as paying staff. As a result, cancellations can result in lost revenue. This will greatly impact on the business. Ideally, I don’t want either of us to be out of pocket. You can cancel your space on a workshop up to two weeks before it takes place. This two-week period allows me the necessary time to try and find someone to fill your place which I will endeavour to do through word of mouth and social media. If I can fill your space you will receive a full refund minus £10 admin fee, to deal with the process of issuing your refund and finding an alternative person to fill your space. However, please appreciate if I am unable to find someone to take your place, you will not receive a refund. I do understand that there are sometimes unavoidable situations so am happy to discuss any exceptional circumstances you may have. To cancel your place on a workshop, please provide me with a written notice via email; jane@fabricpaperscissors.co.uk. Unless I have acknowledged your request, you shouldn’t consider your request delivered! If I don’t respond within three working days, then please send a follow-up email or call me. Refunds will be made in the same way as the payment was made, ie. Payments paid by a credit card can only be refunded to the same card. Cancellations by Fabric Paper Scissors I am entitled to cancel any group or workshop at any time subject to the repayment of any deposit and fees received in respect of the booking which has been cancelled. In the unlikely event of a cancellation by myself or a guest tutor, I will provide a full refund within 5 days of the workshop date. My liability is only for the cost of the class. If the class is cancelled, you are liable for any costs incurred by you including materials purchased in advance, travel or accommodation.
