Service Description

Autumn Light & Atmosphere in Watercolour Iryna Haslam, is passionate about sharing her techniques and experience with you, ensuring you can create your own watercolor paintings with a complete understanding of the process. Her goal is to help you achieve beautiful results you’ll be proud to hang on your wall. This watercolour workshop is open to all levels, from beginners to intermediate painters. It’s a relaxed, creative session with gentle guidance, short demonstrations, and plenty of time to paint. We’ll explore how to create atmosphere in watercolour, looking at how light, soft reflections, and simple composition work together to give a painting depth and mood. What We’ll Explore • Suggesting light and atmosphere in watercolour • Using wet-on-wet and layering to create softness and flow • Simple composition ideas to help your painting feel balanced • Working with reflections and light against the subject • Allowing watercolour to flow naturally while staying in control Who It’s For This workshop is suitable for everyone — whether you’re just starting out or already painting and would like to feel more confident and relaxed with watercolour. You’ll be guided step by step, with space to experiment, ask questions, and enjoy the process at your own pace. By the end of the session, you’ll have your own watercolour piece and a clearer sense of how to create mood, light, and atmosphere - and, most importantly, you’ll enjoy painting. All materials are supplied and included, just bring your lunch. Tea, Coffee and Cake will be available throughout the day.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations & Refunds Bookings for the workshops are made months in advance, therefore it can be difficult for me to resell any places at short notice. Workshops require a great deal of planning, financial commitment, supplies and tools, as well as paying staff. As a result, cancellations can result in lost revenue. This will greatly impact on the business. Ideally, I don’t want either of us to be out of pocket. You can cancel your space on a workshop up to two weeks before it takes place. This two-week period allows me the necessary time to try and find someone to fill your place which I will endeavour to do through word of mouth and social media. If I can fill your space you will receive a full refund minus £10 admin fee, to deal with the process of issuing your refund and finding an alternative person to fill your space. However, please appreciate if I am unable to find someone to take your place, you will not receive a refund. I do understand that there are sometimes unavoidable situations so am happy to discuss any exceptional circumstances you may have. To cancel your place on a workshop, please provide me with a written notice via email; jane@fabricpaperscissors.co.uk. Unless I have acknowledged your request, you shouldn’t consider your request delivered! If I don’t respond within three working days, then please send a follow-up email or call me. Refunds will be made in the same way as the payment was made, ie. Payments paid by a credit card can only be refunded to the same card. Cancellations by Fabric Paper Scissors I am entitled to cancel any group or workshop at any time subject to the repayment of any deposit and fees received in respect of the booking which has been cancelled. In the unlikely event of a cancellation by myself or a guest tutor, I will provide a full refund within 5 days of the workshop date. My liability is only for the cost of the class. If the class is cancelled, you are liable for any costs incurred by you including materials purchased in advance, travel or accommodation.
