Service Description
Join us at our monthly patchwork and quilting workshop at Fabric Paper Scissors. Now we have finished our jackets, its time to further ramp up our challenges. We meet at 10am on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Angela, our experienced tutor, will expertly guide you through the process. Work Shop Plan Your challenge is to make a wall hanging. · Finished size 18” x 12” · Can be portrait or landscape. · It must include some fabric manipulation AND a 3D element. For the first meeting please bring pictures and ideas for your hanging. Be prepared to work in a notebook or sketchbook. You will be starting on a rough drawing of your idea, if you prefer to do sticking and cutting that is fine. Make sure you bring a Pritt Stick and papers/magazines to cut up. Please bring with you absolutely anything you want to use for your hanging and your backing fabric. Also, your sewing machine and any other equipment you might need. There are no strict rules, (except those above) for this project. I want to see you think outside the box and make samples where necessary. I am looking for your creativity to shine. You will be expected to push your usual boundaries, trying new techniques and different fabrics. This series of workshops, will be 4 sessions. So you'll learn lots of different techniques throughout, which youll be able to use in other projects you may be exploring. Fabrics/Materials to consider using: Satin Lutrador Wire Shrink Plastic Silk Transfer Foil Washers Pipe cleaners Wool Felt Wood Beads Tyvek Cotton Metal Buttons Card Velvet Lace Sequins Paper Techniques to consider using are as follow, and you'll be guided through some of these by Angela.: Quilting Patchwork Free Motion Embroidery Crochet Transfer Foils Hand Embroidery Weaving Transfer Printing Knitting French Knitting Heat Needle Weaving You’ll need your own sewing machine, basic sewing kit, fabrics, cutting mats, scissors etc Tools. Cutting Mat Rulers Long & Square Rotary Cutter Scissors Sewing Machine, Power Lead, Foot Pedal & Instruction Manual Straight Stitch Foot 1/4" Patchwork Foot Walking / Quilting Foot Notebook You’ll need to bring your lunch, although tea coffee and cake will be supplied.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations & Refunds Bookings for the workshops are made months in advance, therefore it can be difficult for me to resell any places at short notice. Workshops require a great deal of planning, financial commitment, supplies and tools, as well as paying staff. As a result, cancellations can result in lost revenue. This will greatly impact on the business. Ideally, I don’t want either of us to be out of pocket. You can cancel your space on a workshop up to two weeks before it takes place. This two-week period allows me the necessary time to try and find someone to fill your place which I will endeavour to do through word of mouth and social media. If I can fill your space you will receive a full refund minus £10 admin fee, to deal with the process of issuing your refund and finding an alternative person to fill your space. However, please appreciate if I am unable to find someone to take your place, you will not receive a refund. I do understand that there are sometimes unavoidable situations so am happy to discuss any exceptional circumstances you may have. To cancel your place on a workshop, please provide me with a written notice via email; jane@fabricpaperscissors.co.uk. Unless I have acknowledged your request, you shouldn’t consider your request delivered! If I don’t respond within three working days, then please send a follow-up email or call me. Refunds will be made in the same way as the payment was made, ie. Payments paid by a credit card can only be refunded to the same card. Cancellations by Fabric Paper Scissors I am entitled to cancel any group or workshop at any time subject to the repayment of any deposit and fees received in respect of the booking which has been cancelled. In the unlikely event of a cancellation by myself or a guest tutor, I will provide a full refund within 5 days of the workshop date. My liability is only for the cost of the class. If the class is cancelled, you are liable for any costs incurred by you including materials purchased in advance, travel or accommodation.
