Service Description
Patterns from India Jenny O'Leary will be in the studio for this 2 day workshop in 2025. As you know Jenny travels quite a distance to bring us her unique Batik techniques and to have her in the studio for 2 consecutive days means we can play longer! This time using thw viivd colours of India for our inspiration we will look at the intricacies of Indian Design and textures. Using patterns, textures and colours from India we will use the exciting technique of batik on tissue to create beautiful pieces suitable for further embellishment with stitch or print. We will use stencils and rubbings, wooden stamps and various tools to create exciting effects then collage our papers together to create Indian inspired pieces. On day two we will explore the technique further but on fabric. You may wish to create a piece suitable for making a scroll or folded book. Work on both days will be suitable for adding to with stitch at a later date. Please bring with you an apron, white cotton fabric, this can be pre used or vintage, equivalent to two A3 pieces that you can cut according to what you decide to make. Youll need to bring your lunch each day, however cake and rereshments will be provided throughout the day.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations & Refunds Bookings for the workshops are made months in advance, therefore it can be difficult for me to resell any places at short notice. Workshops require a great deal of planning, financial commitment, supplies and tools, as well as paying staff. As a result, cancellations can result in lost revenue. This will greatly impact on the business. Ideally, I don’t want either of us to be out of pocket. You can cancel your space on a workshop up to two weeks before it takes place. This two-week period allows me the necessary time to try and find someone to fill your place which I will endeavour to do through word of mouth and social media. If I can fill your space you will receive a full refund minus £10 admin fee, to deal with the process of issuing your refund and finding an alternative person to fill your space. However, please appreciate if I am unable to find someone to take your place, you will not receive a refund. I do understand that there are sometimes unavoidable situations so am happy to discuss any exceptional circumstances you may have. To cancel your place on a workshop, please provide me with a written notice via email; jane@fabricpaperscissors.co.uk. Unless I have acknowledged your request, you shouldn’t consider your request delivered! If I don’t respond within three working days, then please send a follow-up email or call me. Refunds will be made in the same way as the payment was made, ie. Payments paid by a credit card can only be refunded to the same card. Cancellations by Fabric Paper Scissors I am entitled to cancel any group or workshop at any time subject to the repayment of any deposit and fees received in respect of the booking which has been cancelled. In the unlikely event of a cancellation by myself or a guest tutor, I will provide a full refund within 5 days of the workshop date. My liability is only for the cost of the class. If the class is cancelled, you are liable for any costs incurred by you including materials purchased in advance, travel or accommodation.
