Dream Catcher Vendulka Battais is a textile artist, quilter, embroiderer and designer who started her creative journey making clothes with her mum in the Czech Republic. She learnt simple patchwork when she moved to the UK and was looking for a new hobby! It’s a story of creativity and of making opportunities and taking action. From squares and triangles, Vendulka’s work has evolved into quilting and embroidery, and love of circular patterns inspired by mandalas and dream-catchers. Her love of teaching shines through. Vendulka will be your tutor for the day and will impart her modern take on quilting. This will be Vendulka's second visit to the studio in 2022. At the Festival of Quilts in 2021, she won BEST IN SHOW! So it's great to be able to welcome her to the studio. You will learn how to weave dream catchers, we will also use organza and stitch to create the feathers. You will then have the option of keeping it loosely hanging or attaching it to the quilted background. FULL REQUIREMENTS WILL FOLLOW. Refreshment will be served, but please remember your packed lunch.
Cancellations & Refunds Bookings for the workshops are made months in advance, therefore it can be difficult for me to resell any places at short notice. Workshops require a great deal of planning, financial commitment, supplies and tools, as well as paying staff. As a result, cancellations can result in lost revenue. This will greatly impact on the business. Ideally, I don’t want either of us to be out of pocket. You can cancel your space on a workshop up to two weeks before it takes place. This two-week period allows me the necessary time to try and find someone to fill your place which I will endeavour to do through word of mouth and social media. If I can fill your space you will receive a full refund minus £5 admin fee, to deal with the process of issuing your refund and finding an alternative person to fill your space. However, please appreciate if I am unable to find someone to take your place, you will not receive a refund. I do understand that there are sometimes unavoidable situations so am happy to discuss any exceptional circumstances you may have. To cancel your place on a workshop, please provide me with a written notice via email; firstname.lastname@example.org. Unless I have acknowledged your request, you shouldn’t consider your request delivered! If I don’t respond within three working days, then please send a follow-up email or call me. Refunds will be made in the same way as the payment was made, ie. Payments paid by a credit card can only be refunded to the same card. Cancellations by Fabric Paper Scissors I am entitled to cancel any group or workshop at any time subject to the repayment of any deposit and fees received in respect of the booking which has been cancelled. In the unlikely event of a cancellation by myself or a guest tutor, I will provide a full refund within 5 days of the workshop date. My liability is only for the cost of the class. If the class is cancelled, you are liable for any costs incurred by you including materials purchased in advance, travel or accommodation.
